On the first Tuesday of the brand new half to 2013 and to celebrate the Mid Year, here's your full Try This Tuesday round up...
For the first ever episode of 'Try This Tuesday', it had to be chocolate!
To make it raw, you'll have to make sure the dipping chocolate is almost like an icing. Melt cacao paste/liquor and blend it with soaked cashews and agave. Let it cool, until it sets a little and begin dipping. Also make sure the strawberries and the cone are nice and cold for the chocolate to set quickly.
Let's devote today to de-cluttering. Not only getting rid of and recycling the things that are making us sad, but the things that don't give us any joy in the first place.
When I was moving to the UK and trying to figure out how I can fit a lifetime of photos into a single album, someone very wise told me: "When looking at each photo and it doesn't take you back to that moment or give you butterflies- toss it." The experience of letting go, was not only cleansing, but completely thrilling.
This goes for every single thing in your draws, on your shelves, wardrobes AND your pantry. Especially your pantry.

Marinate Raw Mushrooms. No equipment is necessary and it is so quick to do- in some cases only taking 15 minutes for the juices to penetrate right through for a delicious meal. This is especially one of my favourite ways to introduce someone to the raw lifestyle, as the flavours and textures compliment each other so well, they always want to explore more

Add medicinal flower extracts/ essential oils to your desserts for an extra rich, luxury and flavoursome sensation. I added these dark chocolate drops (pictured) to my chocolate dipping sauce and served it with granola bites for dessert - seriously naughty tasting for something totally the opposite. Raw Living have an amazing range of extracts from hazelnut to coffee and caramel. OMG!
It is when you feel lost, that you are forced to discover a new way. When you discover new possibilities is when you really grow, expand, live!
If it wasn't for me walking down the 'wrong' street one day, I would've never discovered this pictured community organic garden, I would've never known how amazing my neighbours are who help grow it and would've never got a chance to play with (and eat) this freshest produce myself.
So why not walk down a new street today, get out of the train 2 stops before your home or 2 stops after and find your way back (without a GPS!), park your car in a different neighbourhood, visit a new isle at a health store, walk outside your office to hold a meeting and hold it on a 3rd park bench that you see free, ride your bike for 15 minutes in an unfamiliar direction, walk walk walk!

Recruit a friend to do a juice cleanse with you! Take turns making juices and get exercise at the same time while delivering the juice to each other. We've decided to go for 3 drinks per day: 1 morning juice, 1 afternoon juice & 1 evening smoothie. If we make our own smoothie in the evenings, juicing just once each day is enough per person. This morning Britney biked to mine with our freshly made drinks, in the afternoon I'll be biking to her! FUN right?
Make colours burst in your smoothies and desserts by adding certain ingredients like beet root juice for red, turmeric for yellow, mango or pumpkin for orange, spirulina for green and blueberry for blue. Think of all the additional nutrition you'll get too!
Dry skin brushing is one of my top tips for extra detox support you can provide yourself when on my raw food based cleanse (eBook: 'Purified- Your Complete 7 Day Detox Program), but it's also a simple vital activity to do before your morning shower daily.

Best recipe ever ever EVER. This courgette pasta is so easy to make either with a spiraliser or a simple potato peeler (it'll come out like fettucini) and the pesto sauce can be easily made in a minute using either a blender or a food processor, but will last in the fridge for up to 2 months! Let's start detoxing today! One of my top tips is - Practicing Hydrotherapy. There is no better way to wake every cell in your body up and get energised for detoxification, than taking a really hot shower to thoroughly warm up, then switching to cold for 30 seconds, repeat 3 times. You'll be amazed how good and alive this makes you feel.
Squash/blend various fruits and freeze in ice cube trays. The result is the healthiest and most delicious way to cool your glass of water or a juice.
