This week only: 2 for 1 meals at the brand new Tanya's!

tanya maher new tanya's retail store Surprise!  Tanya’s is back and it’s eeeeeven better than before! ...If I may say so myself :) But honestly I do really think it's better than before, otherwise I would've never gone for such a drastic change. Keep reading to learn what's new. You might remember that almost three years earlier, in July 2014, I opened Tanya’s Cafe inside My Chelsea with pop-ups soon to follow at a Fitness Centre and in Selfridges. The cafe was hailed one of the top raw food restaurants in Europe and has seen clientele such as the Rolling Stones, Fearne Cotton, Millie Mackintosh, Lorraine Pascale, Julie Montagu and more! Operating from a single tiny kitchen in Chelsea, we had to turn down numerous opportunities to stock my famous guilt-free Cheezecakes, organic Living Lasagnas and Superfood drinks anywhere else. We decided to change that and closed the restaurant in November of last year for a big and super exciting remodel! [caption id="attachment_2493" align="aligncenter" width="1022"]source @kajaand on IG source @kajaand on IG[/caption]   On 19th June 2017, Tanya’s opened its doors once again, but in a very new way!    Here's what's different: -We're now open from 7am till 11pm with the full menu restocked into the store’s fridges each morning. -Pop in on your way to work to pick up an Adventure Salad Bowl without the wait. -Our partnership with My Chelsea means that the beautiful newly refurbished The Living Room is now available to all of Tanya’s customers and My Chelsea guests, so if you’re after a Medicinal Mushroom Latte with coconut milk and your colleague needs her traditional Cappuccino (or vice versa), there’s no more need to dine in separate restaurants. -We made it easily accessible for you to pop in and either Grab’n’Go or Grab’n’DineIn. We've even installed our very own door from street level! -It’s very relaxed and there are now power points all throughout, so bring your laptop and work away in a green living environment. -Tanya’s partnership with Deliveroo and Quiqup means that you can get anything delivered throughout London! -My famous whole cakes are now available to purchase and collect in-store without preorder. Soon they will be available for online order also to be delivered across London. tanya's raw cheesecakes   Expect to see Tanya’s best-sellers at various London’s shops soon, but for now- come and be among the first to experience the brand-new Tanya’s and The Living Room. Aaaand for 7 days starting tonight (Monday 3rd July), you can get 2 meals for the price of 1 when Dining In or Taking Out (excludes delivery, cheapest free)!  Choose from Living Lasagna, Thai Curry Kelp Noodles, Adventure Bowls, a bunch of Salad Sides or Dipping Pots are all part of the deal!   lake maher at tanya's store

    Our cyclone of a wedding

    Our cyclone of a wedding

I don’t actually mean that our wedding was a cyclone, rather there was a roof-blowing-tree-breaking-wave-crashing cyclone on the one day, which we picked to get married.

    It was quite spectacular really.

All day before the ceremony began, we had messages coming through trying to make us feel better about the weather and friends all around kept asking how we could be so calm, when outside was everything but calm. But it’s as though we didn’t understand the question…

I am lucky to be married to a wise man, who also believes that everything is as it should be, who goes with the flow and for whom a storm means just one thing: epic surf the next day. And anyway- all we’ve been hearing months before we even said our “I do’s” is how much luck a rainy wedding day brings to a married life, so we both decided that a cyclone must mean that this luck is multiplied tenfold.

Then just like that- the rain stopped for a while to give us a wee window of opportunity for beach photography (above) and the only person that was nearly as crazy as us to be out happened to be a woman, which we can only describe as an angel with a message. She walked past to tell us that she also got married on the stormiest day NZ has seen in years, when everything was flying and crashing and the skies were dark. Then she went on to tell us that she married her soulmate and best friend and that their life together is the most wonderful thing. That was 38 years ago apparently.

If you don’t know Elliot yet, I’d love for you to meet him! He, as well as my trusty sidekick and best friend Britney, are organising the next SupperClub with me! Join us at 6:45PM Thursday April 10th for a seven-course artisan raw meal, which will also include superfood cocktails.

Early bird tickets will be gone in 24 hours, so get yours here now>>

A thousand kisses from New Zealand,

    Mrs Maher

    Royal Peanut Butter Cups

“There are three Royal Garden Parties held on the lawns of Buckingham Palace in London each year”…
“The Queen and other members of the Royal Family attend”… “Invitations are not transferable”….. ”Due to a limited number of invitations available, the Royal Garden Party may only be attended once” Now imagine my excitement when Elliot and I received this in the mail:
The Queen!! We are meeting the Queen! At! Her! House! The envelope our invite came in was so thick, it literally looked like a rectangular box. Not only was the invitation made of some heavy duty  cardboard, but two books of instructions, rules and dress code regulations were also enclosed. I read these very carefully. Throughout the print, “phones turned off, cameras prohibited” was mentioned exactly Five times. This could only mean one thing - there were to be some seriously good photo opportunities! If this really is my “may only be attended once” opportunity, it is almost worth losing an arm and a leg for, not to mention a camera. So Panasonic Lumix in the bag’s secret pocket and off to sip tea with Liz we go.

    P1030347
We did start off on an apprehensive side, even a tad nervous taking photos outside the Palace, while queuing up. Then going through the Palace to the private gardens, all ideas I may have had about a career as a Spy went right out the window. No chance of getting away with anything there. In the garden, it was a totally different story. We began sneakily snapping away, until confidence grew so high that fun activities like press ups in front of the Palace started to emerge and even the Queen and the Duke popped up in our pictures! P1030350   P1030367 Overall it was a beautiful and memorable event. The Queen was the sweetest little host and her catering was worthy of its own Art Gallery. Not much Raw Food in sight, however I think I may have spotted a shaving of a cucumber poking out of the finger sandwiches and a strawberry under all the glaze. Nevertheless it all looked delightfully appetizing and perfectly minuscule.
I too wanted some Raw Food sweeties, that are delightfully appetizing and perfectly minuscule, and since I have been getting some enquiries for recipes, this is one that has come up already four times during last week alone from different people via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn:

RAW FOOD REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER CUPS

    Peanut butter cups
I have never been a big fan of peanut butter myself and living in UK, we don’t even have Reese’s products to do a taste experiment. But I am pretty good at calculating a conversion of ‘not so good contents’ into healthy Raw Food ingredients and Google is pretty good at providing me with any product's ingredient list of these ‘not so good contents’.
All I can say is: “Where? Where have you been all my life? Peanut Butter Cups, you have stolen my heart!” Now it’s your turn: (Makes 10 mini cups)
    For the cups
    10 mini chocolate cases
    For the Chocolate
    4 Tbsp Cacao Powder
    2 Tbsp Cacao Butter, melted
    2 Tbsp Coconut Butter/Oil, melted
    2 Tbsp Agave
    Pinch Salt
    For the Peanut filling
    2 Tbsp Peanut Butter
    1 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
    1 tsp Agave
-To melt my butters, I put them in a dehydrator for an hour on 105F, that way I know they will not reach the temperatures when they are no longer Raw and deprived of enzymes. You can do this in a double boiler too. -Add the rest of the chocolate ingredients and stir in well.
-Cover the bottom of each case with the chocolate mix. -Spoon in a roughly formed ball of peanut filling mix. -Cover completely with the rest of the chocolate mix (if the peanut filling is sticking out, press it down to drown under the chocolate). -Place in the fridge for 2 hours. The rest is history... seduced-finalLove this recipe? How about another 21 equally insane healthy indulgences? If you haven't yet got your hands on 'Seduced- Raw Chocolate recipes to get very excited for', you are missing out big time! Mmmmm.
