Why my child isn't vegan (What I feed my 16 months old in a day VIDEO)

Why my child isn't vegan (What I feed my 16 months old in a day VIDEO)

Thank you soooo much for coming out to support us during the opening of the brand new Tanya's store! Tennis fans will appreciate this picture of one of our guests: [caption id="attachment_2499" align="aligncenter" width="768"]Novak Djokovic raw vegan diet Novak Djokovic at Tanya's[/caption]   Not gonna lie and tell you the feedback has aaaall been jolly good, as a few of you really miss the 'restaurant service' (as you know - we are now a store WITH a restaurant, not the other way around), but overall, it's been super well received and I'm so happy you're happy that your favourites are on the menu again! Today I'm posting what I planned to post when Lake was ACTUALLY 16 months (she is almost 18 months now)... The new video "Healthy toddler diaries- What I feed my 16 months old in a day" is LIVE at last! Weeeeeee! I kept trying to edit it so many times but something (like opening a new store haha) would always stand in my way. For. Six. Weeks. Straight! Lake Maher _ Tanya's Then a few days ago it hit me- there's more to the reason why I had so many obstacles...I simply didn't know how you would take the fact that MY child is not vegan. Not that I ever tried to hide it, I simply never stated that Lake is being brought up without animal food, but there are so many of you praising her vegan upbringing online, that naturally I thought I'd be letting you down. I hope not! Please watch to see what her day of eating as a 16 months old looks like and why I've made these choices for my greatest little love. lake maher In this video you will discover: -What Lake has for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as snacks -Why I don’t cook fruit -What vegetable mylk (yep not nut or seed) has all the minerals for strong teeth and bones -Why she’s not vegan and what animal food I choose for her -Which probiotics have my pick -Which is the best oil to cook with -Why tomatoes are better cooked than raw -Why it’s best to avoid egg white -The behind-the-scenes of Tanya’s retail space just before we opened on 19th June! If the video doesn't play, watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/gCvyNJ9YYoE Feel free to comment and ask questions x

This week only: 2 for 1 meals at the brand new Tanya's!

tanya maher new tanya's retail store Surprise!  Tanya’s is back and it’s eeeeeven better than before! ...If I may say so myself :) But honestly I do really think it's better than before, otherwise I would've never gone for such a drastic change. Keep reading to learn what's new. You might remember that almost three years earlier, in July 2014, I opened Tanya’s Cafe inside My Chelsea with pop-ups soon to follow at a Fitness Centre and in Selfridges. The cafe was hailed one of the top raw food restaurants in Europe and has seen clientele such as the Rolling Stones, Fearne Cotton, Millie Mackintosh, Lorraine Pascale, Julie Montagu and more! Operating from a single tiny kitchen in Chelsea, we had to turn down numerous opportunities to stock my famous guilt-free Cheezecakes, organic Living Lasagnas and Superfood drinks anywhere else. We decided to change that and closed the restaurant in November of last year for a big and super exciting remodel! [caption id="attachment_2493" align="aligncenter" width="1022"]source @kajaand on IG source @kajaand on IG[/caption]   On 19th June 2017, Tanya’s opened its doors once again, but in a very new way!    Here's what's different: -We're now open from 7am till 11pm with the full menu restocked into the store’s fridges each morning. -Pop in on your way to work to pick up an Adventure Salad Bowl without the wait. -Our partnership with My Chelsea means that the beautiful newly refurbished The Living Room is now available to all of Tanya’s customers and My Chelsea guests, so if you’re after a Medicinal Mushroom Latte with coconut milk and your colleague needs her traditional Cappuccino (or vice versa), there’s no more need to dine in separate restaurants. -We made it easily accessible for you to pop in and either Grab’n’Go or Grab’n’DineIn. We've even installed our very own door from street level! -It’s very relaxed and there are now power points all throughout, so bring your laptop and work away in a green living environment. -Tanya’s partnership with Deliveroo and Quiqup means that you can get anything delivered throughout London! -My famous whole cakes are now available to purchase and collect in-store without preorder. Soon they will be available for online order also to be delivered across London. tanya's raw cheesecakes   Expect to see Tanya’s best-sellers at various London’s shops soon, but for now- come and be among the first to experience the brand-new Tanya’s and The Living Room. Aaaand for 7 days starting tonight (Monday 3rd July), you can get 2 meals for the price of 1 when Dining In or Taking Out (excludes delivery, cheapest free)!  Choose from Living Lasagna, Thai Curry Kelp Noodles, Adventure Bowls, a bunch of Salad Sides or Dipping Pots are all part of the deal!   lake maher at tanya's store

This is really really exciting news, if not for you then for me. Ha! :) We missed January this year because of all the reno's, which means I didn't do my usual detox either. All ingredients we use are organic, raw, unprocessed, unpasteurized and cold-pressed.  We do not use sweeteners, gluten or nuts for this cleanse.  We do sprout and slowly dry alkalizing seeds below 47 degrees to release the enzyme inhibitors, but preserve nutrition and aid digestion. 3. Tanya's has a new logo!

    Tanya's has a new logo!

We have a logo! Well, we already had a logo, but as you've read here in the previous post, we were after a refreshed look to match our awesome refreshed biz. From almost 1,000 comments across social media and this site, here's what's clear: -You are a passionate bunch -I am very lucky to have you as my support system -You are loyal to Tanya's brand -You are truly amazing and I love love love you! Thank you so much. I read every single comment and even made spreadsheets against the four presented options to include all of your thoughts and suggestions. Drummm rolllllll...... Here is the result!   As you can see, it's not too dissimilar to our original design, only I have grown up and this logo evolution represents my own journey perfectly :) The changes: -We brightened up the signature fuchsia colour, because you love the vibrancy of our brand. -We kept the 'tanya's' typeface, because you were very loyal to it (and I love it!). -We brought the letters of the typeface closer together, because you felt 'delicious, energising, living food' deserves to pop more on supermarket shelves. -We went for the gradient petals, because they feel 'warm, nurturing, angelic, inspiring and elegant' to you and to me too. -We pumped up the size of the flower to balance against the bolder 'tanya's' typeface. -We changed the tagline to 'Feed your soul', which truly represents what real, organic, wholesome, living food is capable of. This feels most true to my own nature too, because as a Russian, I loooooove to 'feed' and as a raw food coach, I get to witness how living food heals and nourishes the body, fuels with energy, enriches lives and makes you (and your soul) stupidly happy. -The complete logo remains in a circle, because you love the 'holistic' look and it gives us the freedom to use all that vibrant fruity photography as a backdrop (which you also love)! The changes side by side:     What do you think? Let me know in the comments below. Again, thank you so so much for sharing your thoughts on the previous post. I honestly appreciate it beyond words. Happy Thursday!   P.S. The Alkaline Cleanse returns in June! Check your inbox for all the details next week. Here's how to subscribe if you aren't already receiving my updates>>

Help! I can't choose my new logo...

Help! I can't choose my new logo...

My friend, I'd loooove your trusty opinion! 🙋 You already know we are remodelling, but you may not know we are rebranding simultaneously too... My beloved raw food restaurant in Chelsea, London will focus on a retail offering, my workshops and nutritional mentoring for new'ish mums. My plant-based cakes, juices, salads, coconut jerky, etc are going to be stocked all across London shops, cafes and fitness centres, so naturally we felt the need to update our current logo (pic 1) to reflect the warm, nourishing, energising, positive and loving natural brand that we've been nurturing for years. Please could you share in the comments below which one of the pics (2, 3 or 4) sings to you and why. Thank you so so so much, I value your thoughts more than anything!   P.S. A little more about our brief for the rebrand is below...

Tanyas cafe original brand logo IMG_6296 IMG_6297 IMG_6298

I'm coming to you, because this exercise is 'a bit too close to home for me' and since I've witnessed the evolution process with a hundred examples by now, I'm hoping that you can help me make a decision! About current logo: My dear friend in NZ designed it and I love it that someone who knows me well is behind this interpretation of my living food. (It's a flower of life with a seed, that stems from the middle, plus this very seed is used as the apostrophe in 'tanya's'.) She had no brief and no time to pull something together when we were opening the cafe, and I have enjoyed this stamp for almost three years now. It is time to ditch the 'Experience Raw' tagline, because although my food is plant-based, it is not exclusively raw. Also as we are testing out our packaging for different stores, everyone agrees that the current intricate logo design gets lost on shelves. About the new business model: Tanya's is no longer just going to be a restaurant. In fact, there will be no restaurant. MY Chelsea hotel will be an outlet for our products, as will the likes of Planet Organic, Whole Foods, etc. The products like your favourite PB Choc Cheezecake, Matcha Mylkshake, Coconut Jerky and Raw Lasagna will be made off-site and delivered daily to our various stockists, then anyone who visits our star location in Chelsea, will be able to grab their treats and either take them away or pick a seat in the beautiful remodelled hotel lounge, which was the original Tanya's conservatory and terrace. (Think PRET A MANGER, just more fancy, more exclusive, healthier and fully organic.) BetterRaw.com and TanyasCafe.com will also be consolidated into one website, which will offer whole cakes to order, mentoring packages, my books, cleanses and more raw food classes. The brief for new logo: A strong and proud mark that would distinguish my products from the competitors, yet still have the feminine touch of beauty and elegance. It was also important to me that it feels positive, exciting, energetic and friendly. I personally have a unique multi-cultural upbringing, since I was born in Russia, grew up in New Zealand with my Russian parents and sister, got a Kiwi accent, married a Kiwi and now along our our baby girl we are both British citizens, enjoying life in glorious London. I was named after my grandma Tanya, who was an amazing cook (all women in my family were/are), so really this brand is named after my grandma (just cooler hopefully, more luxury most certainly and although still hearty- way waaay healthier), so it has to feeeel authentic and established too. I don't ask for much, do I? :))
